Governor Polis signed HB26-1011 in May, 2026. Beginning January 1, 2028, it is ILLEGAL for third parties to sell puppies and kittens. Retail stores and online sellers who are not the original breeder of the puppies and kittens will no longer be able to sell puppies and kittens from brokers and puppy/kitten mills.
THIS MAKES A HUGE DENT IN THE PUPPY MILL PIPELINE!
